Lindell, Rulander shine on PIAA course
HERSHEY — Warren’s Sam Lindell in the boys race and Shyann Rulander in the girls race earned medals on Saturday at the PIAA Foundations XC Invitational at Hershey Parkview.
“Saturday we were in Hershey competing in the PIAA Foundations meet at the states course,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “This was a very competitive meet with 288 runners in the boys race and 233 in the girls race. We had Sam Lindell, 12th, and Shyann Rulander, 19th, come home with medals and some great times on a very hilly and difficult course. The rest of the squad ran great times considering the level of difficulty of this course. We are focused on daily improvement right now and are continuing to head in the right direction.”
Rulander finished the 5K course in 20:34.00. Teammate Morgan Alexander was 41st in 21:18. Kasey Kophazy, Loralei Johnson, Riley Evan and Brady Caudill also competed.
Lindell was 12th in the boys’ race in 17:02. Louis Flatt, Cole English, Blake Albaugh, Kevin Roberts and Parker Mowrey competed for the Dragons.
