Dragons keep clean in Region 2 tennis

OIL CITY — After a loss at Fairview late Monday, Warren returned to the win column with a 5-0 sweep at Oil City on Wednesday.

The Dragons are 7-2 overall and 5-0 in Region 2 — with matches at Sharon on Thursday and at home on Friday against St. Marys.

“It was good to see our boys back on the winning track after our late night loss to Fairview on Monday,” said Warren coach Travis Myler. “Will (Strassburg) played his best tennis of the year. … Our doubles continue to shine in region play.”

Strassburg shut out Mason Stephens 6-0, 6-0, at top singles. At second singles, Mark Lynds topped John Pardee 6-1, 6-1. Abe Wolf rounded out singles play with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Jackson Dilks.

Max Harrison and Owen Strandburg won 6-1, 6-1 at top doubles over Eric Goughler and Spencer Greene. Adam Strandburg and Derek Hahn got past Dylan Bly and Sam Smith, 6-3, 6-0.
