School is out for the summer, but baseball postseason honors have come in for three members of the Eisenhower Knights baseball team.

Sophomore catcher Wyatt Neall was named to the Region 4 First Team while senior outfielder Caleb Jakubczak and freshman utility player Wesley Wilcox were both named to the Second Team.

Knights head coach Parker Neil had high praise for his sophomore catcher.

“Wyatt was a defensive mastermind for us all season behind the plate,” Neil said. “He earned state ranking for his caught stealing percentage as a catcher finishing third with a 29.2%.”

Neall was a steady bat in the young Knights lineup, batting .264 with five RBIs and 2 doubles.

Jakubczak was named to the Second Team as an outfielder but the senior co-captain did a little bit of everything for the Knights. He led the team in hits (15), RBIs (7) and extra-base hits with five doubles, three triples and a home run. He finished the season with a .319 batting average. “He has left a permanent mark on the Eisenhower program,” Neil said of Jakubczak.

Wilcox, only a freshman, “played with the poise and confidence of a seasoned upperclassman,” Neil said.

Wilcox trailed only Jakubczak with a .302 batting average. He had 13 hits, with three doubles and a home run. Wilcox was honored as a utility player but he really shined for the Knights as a pitcher and first baseman. He also spent time at third base and shortstop.

“Wesley had a great freshman season and has shown that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future,” Neal said.
