Eagles suffer setback against Wildcats
On Wednesday, the Youngsville Lady Eagles (1-1) made the haul out to Northwestern (3-0) and suffered a 39-24 loss to the Lady Wildcats.
“Numbers definitely hurt us” stated Youngsville coaches Jason Peterson and Troy Weissinger. “The team worked hard, we just ran out of legs.”
After the first half, Northwestern was up 22-7. The Eagles tried to battle back and won the second half but it was not enough to win the game.
“Need to rebound better and give ourselves second chances,” Peterson added. “We will continue to get better.”
Kenzie Olewine led the team with 11 points, Olivia Darling added six and Mia Rafalski scored five.
Taylor Stagl led Northwestern in scoring with 18 points, Brooke Miller added eight and Rylee Swartz pitched in six.
