Kudos to golf courses

Dear Editor, Kudos and thanks to the owners and management of Blueberry and Jackson Valley golf courses for their adhering to the CDC guidance during this very troubling time. We must all be cognizant of the consequences that may occur if we don’t remain vigilant. Keeping the social distance from one another and wearing protective face gear will surely help to keep us safe from possible sickness. Wearing masks

Dear Editor, I would like to thank the people who don’t wear masks when going into stores that require them. Thank you to the stores that don’t enforce mask wearing. Thank you to the people that wear a mask to enter a store and then remove it while shopping. Thank you to the families that wear masks and then one or both parents remove their mask while the children do still wear theirs. What an example you are to them. Thank you for making those of us that do have people in their household with existing health issues that COVID-19 could be life threatening to worry even more as ...

City additions

We wanted to send a big Thank You to all involved for the beautiful new playground at Beaty. Our two-year-old son woke up every morning wanting to go watch the construction and will enjoy using it for years to come. Just another great addition to a family-friendly community. Population would benefit from opening businesses

Dear Editor, When the Coronavirus problem first became apparent I was terrified. New data has come out that has changed that thinking. I am concerned that in most cases, isolation may not be necessary. It may also create a bigger problem because you can’t gain immunity isolating at home. In recent weeks, studies have proven that Coronavirus antibodies are present in the population to a larger extent than originally thought. At first that seems scary. The path forward

Dear Editor, Certainly America walks a very fine line between effectively managing this pandemic and getting our economy up and running once again. It is crucial to realize that this is not a choice between one or the other, and that efforts to achieve both of these intertwined goals must proceed hand-in-hand in order to succeed. There really is no other way. The way forward clearly requires a coordinated national effort to implement proven pandemic management strategies: to test, trace, and quarantine as needed, in conjunction with a gradual stepwise re-opening of our economy ...

Freedom of choice

Dear Editor, People are free to use their freedom of choice to go where they want to. But, at this time, people don’t know if they have the virus or not. There has not been enough testing. When people choose to use a business and not social distance or wear masks, they can infect other people in that business. Or if the business is not protecting its employees or their customers and if one person comes into the business, others can be infected. Everyone in the first business visited had a free choice to be there. Then those people go out to a grocery store or pharmacy and infect ...
