Caring ways Dear Editor, This is a public “thank you” to the Warren Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, to the doctor, nurses, aides, therapist, cleaners, maintenance, office, and kitchen staff. I know that health care facilities get bad comments. I’ve made them myself and yes I heard a number of times, “Get me out of here, I hate this place.” My dear husband was one of them. ‘Embarrassing’ behavior Dear Editor, Our city bulldozed through the process of hiring a city manager and pushed through a lease without notifying impacted businesses. We ignore our public when they disagree and speak up at meetings — over and over again. Emails from Bent Run and Allegheny Outfitters have been ignored. Justice unserved Dear Editor, I see in the Times Observer (Feb. 17) that First Assistant District Attorney Cody Brown withdrew drug delivery resulting in death charges, a first-degree felony and changed it to involuntary manslaughter against Christian L. Papalia. He also added possession of drug paraphernalia. It is stated in the article that maximum penalties for these offenses are both five years incarceration each, unless my calculator is wrong five plus five equals 10 years, not six to nine months. Dear Editor, If you’re really interested in where inflation is coming from – look at the stock market. It’s booming, it has been booming. It’s booming because those companies are making huge profits — which means they have been charging prices grossly in excess of their costs. Their costs include you, as an employee, and if you stay underpaid while their prices keep soaring — that’s inflation.
