‘Desperation’ in project Dear Editor, I too would like to stop the planned Hudson development of elderly housing, mainly because the property is perhaps the last piece of prime real estate in downtown Warren. We already have elderly housing downtown next to Soldiers & Sailors Park / Music in the Park: Allegheny Point Apartments. It was sold under the pretense of downtown economic development and fueled by state grant money. (Hudson is also fueled by grants) I know several folks residing in Allegheny Point Park. Banks present dangers Dear Editor, Because of a recent accident in our family, we were pleasantly surprised to see the article on restoration of the Brokenstraw Creek’s banks (June 17). On May 26 two of our family members were walking the beautifully peaceful trail along the Brokenstraw near Youngsville when one walked to the bank, unaware it had been undercut about 18 inches by high water. When the bank gave way, she fell 8 to 10 feet, breaking five vertebrae and five ribs. The father of one of her ICU nurses had a similar accident on a creek in Corry and a man she recently ...

Trumping accusations Dear Editor, Various writers label Donald Trump a proven insurrectionist. Yet he has never been charged, much less convicted. His opponents throw all they can at him. Rising school rates Dear Editor, I see the school board is up to no good — again. Where do you people get off thinking that the average retired homeowner can cough up additional mills to pay for the school district’s financial woes? Minding business Dear Editor, I am responding to the recent letter about the sign. I know both men involved. They are both gentlemen and determined in their views. I am opposed to the gentleman on the left’s depiction of the spin off of the sign. He believes the economic development agencies in this county — more on them later — should be upset by the words on the sign.
