On behalf of the Program Sub-Committee of the Warren County Democratic Committee, I would like to thank and express my appreciation to all people who attended and supported the Grassroots Gathering and Grill on July 27. It was a tremendous success due to the enthusiasm, participation, donations, and excellent attendance! We were also fortunate to have special candidates, such as the rising star running for Pennsylvania Auditor General, Malcolm Kenyatta, and other dynamic speakers and candidates. Thank you to all who attended, donated, and helped make it a great fundraiser.

What’s next? Don’t miss our exciting fall event called Harvest of Hope Gala! This event will be on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the well-appointed Conewango Club, 201 Market St. in downtown Warren. Once again, federal and state candidates, and special guests will be there to meet you and answer questions. We will also have campaign materials available.

Dangerous path

Dear Editor,

After years of radical policies that have taken this country to new lows, it’s time we learn the truth about Kamala Harris. President Joe Biden had a middle of the road campaign, such as it was, and turned left when he took office. We certainly will see her do the same thing, even farther left. It was once stated that ” you can vote your way into socialism, but you can’t vote your way out.” The first stage to communism is destroying capitalism for socialism, and that is what the democrat — left is doing.

The following information is taken from the Congressional Record — Appendix, pp. A34-A35 Jan. 10, 1963 — Current Communist Goals. There are 45 goals posted in the Record and below are just a few of them:

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

Those goals provide a scripted takeover of our country that we are seeing now; no wonder a majority of voters believes we are going in the wrong direction.

Biden, the so-called moderate unifier, proved to be a lie; as a hidden candidate he “won” the presidency, and we as a country got taken for a ride. He has spent nearly half his term on vacation, chose to run again, and was the object of a “bloodless coup” in order to take him off the ticket. The dems are doing the “hiding game” again with Harris. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. This kind of leadership is not what the country needs; we have to see through this charade in order to keep ourselves from the same mistakes we have had to muddle through since January 2021.

Harris and many others lied about his cognitive abilities, so what else has she lied about until now and will she lie about in the future? What is abhorrent is that she acknowledges with pride that she lied about his condition; that fact was stated during a news interview on Aug. 29. If she tries to pretend she is moderate to get votes, take that as a sign of a future U-turn if she wins the presidency. Project 2025 is not a Trump idea. When will the left stop touting that it is? This administration has been built and funded with continual lies. Sad, but true!

Until Harris speaks to the issues, she is a pig in a poke. Voters have to know what they are getting. We do realize she has no thoughts of her own. Strange how she will reduce inflation, and she has been in a position to do so for several years as VP. No taxes on tips came from the Trump playbook. Citizens have to see what is unfolding before us; many need the scales to fall from their eyes to see the reality of the extreme liberals in this election. The Republican platform that was recently printed in this column was one that is easily read and understood; the democrats’ thoughts are smoke and mirrors, no plan to help this country but one that continues to divide to keep power and control.

The Biden-Harris administration has taken us into the brink of world chaos. Looking back to the Afghanistan withdrawal, emboldening Iran with weapons has elevated terrorism in the Middle East. It is apparent there is no substance in Kamala’s abilities; governing the country is beyond her capability. The world stage is no place for her; if Americans can’t understand Kamala’s word salads, communicating with foreign dignitaries through an interpreter could be a problem.

Many leftists keep the felony convictions alive. Take a truthful look at the administration that has pushed that moniker on Trump. It is another ploy to take him down; they can’t deal with real leadership, so they lie, cheat, and push for convictions that would be ignored, if applied to someone else. Donald Trump has become the scapegoat for their prejudice; the left is afraid of him. He is the person to take them to task, cleaning the swamp from the sideshow it has become in order to make America Great Again.

Everyone must make a decision that will impact generations in this country. The Democrat party now is not the same as it was decades ago. To vote “as I always have” and denying the consequences of the present Democrat/Socialist party is dangerous because this country is on the fast track to socialism and beyond.

Actions speak louder than anything that is said; Trump produced a good presidency in his four years. We need the Trump/Vance duo to take this country back, so citizens get a break; there hasn’t been one in nearly four years.
