Fixing ‘the mess’

Dear Editor,

A friend shared the following with me by an anonymous author. It does speak volumes.

“Like many citizens, I’ve wondered and tried hard to understand why Donald Trump has such a remarkable following. (It’s obvious why he probably should not!) Then a friend sent me this raccoon story. It makes no difference about your political leanings, this is just a good explanation of WHY… (or it’s as good as any I can come up with).

“If you really want to know how the majority of people feel? This applies to both Democrats and Republicans; read below, it says it all.

“You’ve been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately. You call the city, four different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job. But there is this one guy and he guarantees you to get rid of them, so you hire him. You don’t care if the guy smells, you don’t care if the guy swears, you don’t care if he’s an alcoholic, you don’t care how many times he’s been married, you don’t care if he voted for Obama, you don’t care if he has a plumber’s crack, you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! He’s the guy. He’s the best. Period!

“Here’s why we want Trump, yes, he’s an egomaniac, but we don’t care. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere. We want it all fixed!

We don’t care that Trump is crude, we don’t care that he insults people, we don’t care that he once was friendly with Hillary, we don’t care that he has changed positions, we don’t care that he’s been married 3 times, we don’t care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O’Donnell, we don’t care that he doesn’t know the name of some Muslim terrorist.

“This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don’t even recognize the country we were born and raised in; “and we just want it fixed and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.

“We’re sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, Republican Party, and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn’t have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn’t have political correctness restraining him, all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he’s also not a politician, he’s not a cowardly politician. And he says he’ll fix it.

“And, we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar. Also, we don’t care if the guy has bad hair. We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, now.”

Flaws in the system

Dear Editor,

I see in the Warren paper of Dec. 28, us common taxpayers will have the privilege of a 2 mill tax increase to allow even more of the county tax elite to have 25 to 50% or whatever tax cuts. Businesses and mall sections are entitled to some of this as county royalty as commissioners and the school board just keep giving into tax leeches, and sit grumping about a declining base with people moving out and wondering why.

They should put on their big boys and girls pants and tell them no. Maybe they should even keep WCCBI accountable. Now that agency wants more of our tax money for their Warren Worx proposal that is full of questions.

The Warren paper of Aug. 24 noted that an official from Vision Government Solutions said the company will go back to commercial properties later in the project. Why would anybody skip a place for reassessment that is right next door to a place you just did and come back later? I would like to know why the county agreed to this?

Perhaps county royalty wants to know how much money they can bleed from common folks to give to elite commercial properties.

The Warren paper of Oct. 18 noted Councilwoman Wendy McCain said an idea from the public should be considered turning the concrete pad into an RV park instead of parking for boat trailers, at boat launch.

Since when does any city/county royalty listen to public comments? Case in point: that roundy thing that took pieces of property away from commercial properties that most of Warren did not want anyway.

Again royalty reigns above all.

Sad U.S. ‘scenario’

Dear Editor,

It is just mind boggling that anyone would believe the left when they continually blame someone else for the problems they have created; no matter what happens it is someone else’s fault. It is unfathomable that they would expect the citizens of this country to believe a group that creates lies over lies.

The saddest part of this scenario is the media is controlled by this group; they espouse these untruths, and the country is inundated with information that is altered to help the left’s cause and ultimately win an election for their candidate.

I have recently read that a large percentage of this country has doubts about the validity of Joe Biden’s election in 2020. With all the chicanery that took place during the election and the DOJ continuing to dog Trump over everything, that is believable.

The democratic process of letting people choose who they want in an election is drastically being tested. This administration is showing the country the direction they are trying to take us; we are losing our democratic choices by what they do, say, and try to enforce.

The left has begun trying to stop conservatives from appearing on ballots in various parts of the country. Trump is constantly harassed and bullied because he is leading in the Republican primary race. This is not the democracy they constantly say they are trying to save; this is totalitarianism. The definition of totalitarianism is explained as a form of government and a political system that prohibits all opposition parties, outlaws individual and group opposition to the state and its claims, and exercises an extremely high if not complete degree of control and regulation over public and private life.

Twenty-five years ago, who would have guessed what the 21st century would bring: a terrorist attack, a black president, an octogenarian president appearing too old for the job, a female vice-president, the overwhelming rise of socialistic ideas, and the demise of democracy as we have known it.

Hopefully, we can make it to Nov. 5 when we elect a new president; a leader that decides that America is worth saving, taking steps to preserve our democratic republic and keep us a viable presence on the world stage.

Norma Bankoske,

Warren
