Study

Editor,

I see that the court house is in need of repair so the commissioners are looking into getting repairs done. So they approve a contract of over $40,000 to do a study on what it will take to get the court house back into new condition again. Forty Thousand dollars to tell them what needs done. This isn’t any work being done. This is just forty thousand dollars to say that the roof needs replaced and the bricks need pointing. So, the person with the contract to do this study calls some roofing contractors, some electrical contractors, some brick restorers, and a plumber and gets some free estimates on what needs done. Pretty good money maker for the contractor, especially when the head of maintenance at the court house could make all those calls himself and save the county $40,000.
