Praying for our teachers

Dear Editor,

I am concerned for teachers striking for a new contract and better wages. Wake up to the age we are in now. Cost of living is high, groceries, health care and trying to raise a family today, very difficult.

We raised four children during the late 70s until the early 90s. No problem, everything was cheaper. Can’t imagine raising children today, cost of clothes high.

I have two friends that one is retired and the other one passed on. Both had large school loans but the parents helped them, which is nice if you are able to. Young teachers do have enormous school loans and you must pay the loan off which would be many years unless the parents could help out.

I have known a few people in Warren whom are all making $10,000.00 a year with no college more than our teachers.

This is no longer a peaceful world. Teachers or for anyone. Quite different than our older folks world of the 1960s 1970s etc. That would be myself and husband also.

Please give our teachers a much overdue raise. Teachers change lives forever, always for the best for children.

Also I am asking our new county commissioner Mrs. Morrison, whom we voted for. Are we going to have our house taxes eliminated.

We did our job paying school taxes. Four children were in Warren schools, as I stated. Seniors need help also. Praying for our teachers.

Sincerely,

Mary Schmader,

Warren
