Outdoor Club to hike Sunday

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike Sunday to Hector Falls, Ludlow. The hike is an out-and-back hike totaling about 2 miles. Participants should know that the group will travel around 2 miles on unpaved roads. The hike to the falls is downhill all the way and uphill the whole way back. The group will meet at Musante Street at 2 p.m. in Warren and then travel to the trailhead. Tom Patterson will be the leader of this activity.

Russell UMC Daycare to host fundraiser

RUSSELL – The Russell UMC Daycare is hosting a fundraiser spaghetti dinner on Saturday, April 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Russell United Methodist Church. It is dine-in or carryout. The daycare is also holding a bake sale and kids art show.

Bridge League winners announced

Monday evening at the YMCA, Karen Conarro and Mary Conarro came in first with Bill Kuppinger and Vicky Laury in second. Connie Michell placed first on Tuesday at the Woman’s Club and Connie Lucia was second. On Thursday at the Woman’s Club, Marge Neel and Laurie Curren were first and second.

County Democratic Committee to host luncheon Saturday

The Warren County Democratic Committee’s annual spring luncheon, “Democracy on the Table,” is Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Township Social Hall, 40 Fuller Ave., Warren. Lunch will include homemade soups, fresh salad and desserts. At each table those attending will discuss the Bill of Rights. In addition, several organizations such as Warren Refuge Resettlement Network, PRIDE, League of Women Voters, 5calls.org, as well as others will be represented to provide information and resources. Admission is by donation, with a suggested donation of $20 per adult. Reservations are appreciated because the committee needs to prepare.
