Two county players win at chess tournament

Two Warren County players were on the first place Bradford Knight Owls scholastic chess club at the Pennsylvania State Chess Championships March 15 through 17 in Harrisburg. Pictured (front, from left) are: Micaiah ‘Ki’ Ferguson, Carter McAndrew, and Aiden Ferguson, and (back): Natasha Ferry (Warren Area High School), Coach Bob Ferguson, Trenton Johnson, Caleb McAndrew, Liam Ferry (Beaty-Warren Middle School), Elaina Ferguson, and Rob Ferguson. Absent from photo are Coach Jessica Kramer, and Aislin, Sean, and Aidan Kramer, who competed in the elementary division, Brian Ferry, and Ryan Ferguson. The top four results counted toward the club scoring. Bradford ended with 12.5 out of a possible 20 points. Johnson finished with four points to lead the club.
