As of the end of May, Warren County has new royalty.
Jolynn Durlin was crowned 2023-2024 Dairy Princess on May 28.
Her term begins with a full National Dairy Month — June.
Durlin was crowned by 2022-2023 Dairy Princess Kaitlin Sleeman at the Dairy Committee’s annual pageant.
Miranda Gates was named Dairy Maid and Tristen Gates was named Dairy Miss.
The pageant opened with a recognition of the 2022-2023 court and promotional team — Gracie and Case Benedict, Olivia and Kensley Sheldon, Harper, Tristen, and Lane Gates, and Ariel Ludwick.
The team received second level recognition from the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess and Promotion Services for its work.
The group completed 272 promotions of various types and categories. Among those efforts were 172 school age programs, 40 programs for adults, 35 special events, 36 media events, 46 booth events, and four state events.
Sleeman said her favorite promotions were ones in which she worked with young kids at day care programs and having them ask her if she was a real princess, according to a release.
Durlin will work with her court to promote the dairy industry in Warren County. She will attend parades, fair, school events, and more, promoting the importance of three servings of dairy everyday and how the dairy farmers care for their animals and land.
Groups that would like to have the court attend or present at an event may visit the Warren County Dairy Princess and Promotion Facebook page or call Toni Gates at (814) 584-4837 or Tiffany Jackson at (814) 462-8320.
