John “Jack” Mack Blair

John “Jack” Mack Blair, 90 of Smith Mountain Lake, Moneta, Virginia passed away quietly on April 29, 2026 at his home.

He was born on April 18, 1936 in Akron Ohio the youngest child of the Late Henry and Anna Blair.

Jack was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1955. One of his fond memories was playing football with the Connellsville Cokers. His first employment was with Anchor Hocking as a timer keeper for all the employees. He then volunteered his draft with the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Ulm Germany in the Infantry. His banking career began in 1957 in Connellsville, PA at the Second National Bank. From there, he moved to Warren, PA with his wife, Paula and began a long successful banking career with Northwest Savings Bank retiring as an Executive Vice President.

Jack was also the President of the Warren Kiwanis Club and a Director of the local YMCA.

Jack had many interests during his long life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, boating, and traveling to many interesting places with his wife, Paula, family and friends.

He had a funny sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was to take out his entire family to a nice dinner. Jack was a very strong, kind, gracious and caring man.

Jack was a loving man to his wife, Paula for 64 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his son, David Blair, wife, Kelly Blair of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren, Brandon Blair of Durham, NC, and Brianna Blair Wooten of Atlanta, GA; his daughter, Vicki Olson, husband, James Olson of Bradenton, FL, grandchildren, Maria Olson of Bradenton, FL, and grandson, Andrei Olson who resides with his beloved grandfather now. He also has several living nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Blair, and his sister, Joycealyn Blair Randolph.

The family would like to thank the Staffs of Thriving Well at Home Affinity Hospice for all of the wonderful love, care, and friendship they gave Jack and his whole family during this difficult time.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at Jack and Paula’s home on Smith Mountain Lake, VA at a later date.
