Hooktown Holidays keeps giving during Christmas season

Ed Shults of Warren, represented here by Sean Ellsworth, left, recently contributed to the Hooktown Holidays effort.

Christmas is often called the season of giving.

Hooktown Holidays is proving to be a powerful venue to make that a reality.

“We had a wonderful donation of $2,500 for our Match Day from Hooktown Holidays Inc.,” Salvation Army Capt. Dorothy Budd said.

The Salvation Army had someone agree to match all donations made last Friday to the Red Kettle Campaign.

But the ability to make those kind of contributions requires people and entities willing to offer their support.

Terry Pearson, founder of Hooktown Holidays, presented a $2,500 check to Salvation Army Capt. Shane Budd as part of a match day event last Friday as part of the annual Red Kettle Campaign.

That has included recent donations from both Netta Lindell, owner of Ekey Marketplace and Ed Shults of Warren.

Hooktown Founder Terry Pearson stressed that “all donations go toward continuing their mission to provide nutritious food, warm clothing, and other necessities of life to children, families and other individuals in need in our community.”

According to information provided to the Times Observer indicates that Hooktown Holidays has raised over $170,000 since its founding nine years ago toward that end.

“Throughout the years, Ed Shults of Warren has held a steady relationship with Hooktown Holidays Inc. and recently continued our support through a monetary donation,” Trustin McDonald, customer experience manager, said.

More information about the organization can be found at hooktownholidays.org.

Starting at $3.50/week.
