Sounds that ‘uplift’

First Methodist Church invites the community to a special morning of worship and music featuring Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The renowned ensemble will participate throughout the entire worship service, presenting beloved hymn classics with a contemporary flair that has delighted audiences across the country.
“We are excited to welcome Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass to First Methodist Church,” church representatives said. “Their ministry through music inspires worship, uplifts the spirit, and creates a memorable experience for people of all ages.”
The King’s Brass features a blend of three trumpets, three trombones, tuba, percussion and keyboards. Formed more than four decades ago in Detroit, The King’s Brass is composed of professional musicians from across the country who share a passion for using the instruments they love to lead others in praise and worship. Based in Fort Wayne, Ind., the group performs more than 150 concerts each year throughout the United States and at international destinations. This year, The King’s Brass celebrates its 47th anniversary season, continuing a legacy of musical excellence and ministry that has inspired audiences for generations.
Known for their unique arrangements and dynamic performances, Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass bring a fresh approach to traditional hymns while maintaining their timeless message.
In addition to the worship service, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase recordings by the group following the service. CDs will be available, including their latest recording, Festive Brass, the ensemble’s 19th album. Released on the Summit Records label, Festive Brass features guest artists Diane Bish, J. Marty Cope, Sunghwan Kim, Rebecca Kleintop Lepore, and Samuel Metzger. The recording showcases a wide variety of inspiring and uplifting selections, including “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” (“Coronation”), “Festive Trumpet Tune: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” “In Christ Alone,” “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Toccata from Symphonie Concertante,” “God Bless the USA,” “Overture to Candide,” “What a Wonderful World,” and many more.
The worship service is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
