Shop with a Cop has been bringing smiles to faces for three years.
The event mixes local youth and local law enforcement to make sure the young people have new toys and warm clothes, and maybe some gifts for family members.
For the police, it’s a time to help bring some joy and to create and reinforce positive relationships with the community.
In December, police through Warren County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 83 will take groups of kids shopping at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Walmart, and Shoe Department, according to Conewango Township Police Officer Charlie Andersen.
After the shopping spree, the group will move on to Napoli Pizza for lunch.

Participating officers in the City of Warren Police, Youngsville Borough Police, Conewango Township Police, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office kick off the fund-raising for the event by participating in No-Shave November at a cost of at least $1 per day they don’t shave, Andersen said. No-Shave November could be extended into December for some officers.
No-Shave dollars from November go toward Shop with a Cop.
December dollars will go to a local charity.
“Donations are welcome to help fund this event and take kids shopping,” Andersen said. “Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Walmart, and Shoe Department are proud hosts of the event and offer discounts to make the money go further.”
“Anyone looking to donate toward this event may contact Officer Charlie Andersen, Conewango Township Police at (814) 726-0725 or Officer Jason Woodin, Conewango Township Police/Youngsville Borough Police/Treasurer of the Warren County Fraternal Order of Police,” Andersen said.
“This event has been a huge success for our community and it’s all been made possible through generous donations large and small,” he said.
