County begins search for new human services director

Officials in Warren and Forest counties are undertaking the “difficult” task of replacing a long-time human services leader.

Ronna Tipton has resigned as the county’s human services director.

County officials say she served for more than 20 years in the two-county area.

“Forest and Warren County governments want to express thanks to Ronna Tipton for her invaluable service, and we wish her the absolute best in her future endeavors,” Warren County Commissioner Chairman Ben Kafferlin said.

“Ronna’s diverse talents and her client-focused advocacy will be sorely missed.”

Tipton began her career in 2000 as supports coordinator in the Intellectual Disabilities. Since then, she worked in a variety of positions including developmental disabilities associate director. She has served as the director since July 2018.

As Forest-Warren Human Services is a joint venture of both counties, the six commissioners from Warren and Forest counties “will now begin the difficult task of appointing a replacement.”

Tipton’s last day will be July 8.

The county officials stress they will “work hard to find a quality candidate and to develop a good transitional plan that will lead the organization going forward.”

Starting at $4.00/week.
