Bridge league winners announced

Monday evening at the YMCA, Richard Woodruff and Russ Kelley came in first with Laurie Curren and My Ignatius in second. Connie Michell placed first on Tuesday at the Woman’s Club and Russ Kelley was second. Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club, Nan Cashman claimed first and Russ Kelley was second.

Pellegrino’s to host Jazz Fest Saturday

A free live jazz performance will be held Saturday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at Pellegrino’s Creekside Pavilion featuring Jazz Crossing. There is no charge to attend. The venue includes a covered pavilion and stage.

Holy Redeemer to host blood drive Tuesday

Holy Redeemer Church will host a Community Blood Bank blood drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.fourhearts.org or by calling Edinger at 814-596-3395. Walk-ins are also welcome, but scheduling an appointment ensures a smoother process for donors. Blood donations take about 45 minutes.

PASR to host ‘Coffee Time’ Thursday

Those interested in learning more about the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees can attend coffee time with PASR members at Tim Horton’s, 36 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, June 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Seniors purchasing a regular hot coffee or tea get a 10% discount for those items. A snack will be provided.

Caregivers Support Group to meet Monday

The regular meeting of Caregivers Support Group-Warren will be Monday, June 15, at noon at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren. Those attending should enter the building via the elevator entrance and proceed to the Wesley Parlor. All caregivers and those interested in learning about Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementia-related disorders are welcome and encouraged to attend. Free information from the Alzheimer’s Association is available as well as many books related to real-life situations. Support group meetings are a confidential place to gain information and to ask questions related to their caregiving experiences. Details about the upcoming Warren Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease will be shared by some of the walk team captains. The meeting is open to the public. Boot drive scheduled for Saturday

The Warren County Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron 505 will have a Boot Drive on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart. Donations support youth leadership, aerospace education and emergency services.

Elks Lodge to commemorate Flag Day on Sunday

In commemoration of the adoption of the U.S. flag and officially established in the U.S. in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson, Flag Day has been celebrated since 1907 when the Elks Lodge began to venerate the flag in ceremonies every June 14. On Sunday, Warren County Commissioner Dan Glotz will be the guest speaker and Mark Silvis will read the history of the flag while the Boy Scouts present the flags at the Elks Lodge 223, located at 341 Hickory St., Warren. A color guard will change out the flag at the Elks. This ceremony starts at 7 p.m
