PGC investigates Facebook video of deer beaten by apparent hunters

The PA Game Commission is aware of a video, according to a post on its Facebook page, that was posted to Facebook of two males who allegedly physically assaulted a deer that appears to have already been shot.

As of press time, there were over 4.8 thousand responses to the post that has been shared 6,500 times.

The conduct portrayed in the video posted is “reprehensible and potentially a violation of the law,” according to the commission.

Although the two individuals are reportedly from Brookville in Jefferson County, that doesn’t mean the incident occurred there, according to a statement made by the PGC to KDKA-TV as reported by The Associated Press.

The commission also told KDKA-TV that PA State Game Wardens are currently investigating the matter. Anyone with information regarding the incident are asked to report it to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888-PGC-8001 or the Game Commission’s Northwest Region Dispatch Office at (814) 432-3187.
