Warren Area High School celebrated the accomplishments of twenty-three students as they were inducted into the National Honor Society this month. The National Honor Society is built on the following four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Each student exemplifies these characteristics in the classroom, community, and beyond. The National Honor Society is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious student recognition program in the nation.
Mrs. Olivia Zapel, the NHS adviser at Warren Area High School, commented on this year’s class, “Congratulations to the new members of Warren Area High School National Honor Society. This distinction is hard-earned and well deserved. These students have been chosen because they represent the very best of what education can produce: scholars who lead, serve, and stand tall in character. Membership in the National Honor Society is not a reward for past achievement, but a call to continued excellence.”
Julia Schultz, the current NHS president at Warren High School, opened the ceremony with the following statements, “Our chapter is proud to have been inducting new members for years, and today’s ceremony indicates the continuing emphasis on excellence that we represent for our school and community. We are proud of all our accomplishments and welcome these new members who bring new energy in support of our continuing work as NHS members. These new members have earned this honor through the effective demonstration of the four qualities that serve as standards for the Society.”
