Storm quiets 92 Gold in Warren
Saturday’s winds temporarily turned down the music.
WRRN, 92 Gold (92.3 FM) was off the air from Saturday through at least Tuesday morning after strong wind storms swept through the region. Power outages in Erie where the station’s headquarters is located were given as the cause of the outage. The outage, which was relayed to an employee of Libby Broadcasting on Saturday and again on Sunday but as of Monday afternoon, the music is still off the air.
WRRN originally signed on the air on April 22, 1948. It was then owned by David Potter who also served as President and General Manager.
W. Leroy Schneck was program director then and would someday take control of the station. 92 Gold is now owned by Lilly Broadcasting in Erie.
