Kids Craft Program: Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. the library will host a special, free “Crafts & Stories” program specifically for children ages 4 to 12. Crafting supplies are limited to 25 participants, so pre-registration is being requested and an adult is required to attend.

“We’re really excited about this special program. The reason we chose December 27 is because the library wanted to offer a fun program that elementary age kids could participate in during the winter break,” said Library Director Kristy Wallace. “Kids will have to opportunity to rotate through each activity station in smaller groups. Activity stations will simultaneously include crafting, story time, building block area, and also a painting area.”

To register a child (ages 4 to 12) for one of the 25 spaces, call the Youngsville Public Library during business hours and speak directly with a staff member at 814-563-7670, on Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Crafts & Stories program is free. To reserve a space, parents will be asked the name and age of the child as well as a contact phone number.

“We’re very grateful that Dee Dee Tucker from the Toy Shoppe of Warren, reached out to the Youngsville Library and asked if we would like some wooden toys to use for programming,” Wallace said. “Needless to say, our library jumped at the opportunity. We asked for plain wooden toys so that the kids can be creative and paint the toys themselves. Because we are going to have a painting station that will require much more intricate painting skills, the youngest age for program participants will be age 4.”
