Photos submitted to Times Observer An assembly party working on the Lenten Crosses for Good Friday. If you have decorations to donate please come and help to put the crosses together. The Crosses are made to raise funds for the only Pet Food Pantry at the St. Francis Church in Youngsville. At this time they are in need of cat food (wet and dry) for the pantry. If you donated an item of food you may receive a cross. From left, in back, are Dale Meyer and Laurie Rulander, and Molly Lawson is working on the Cross Assembly.

Lenten Services

March 15 – Saron Lutheran Church; March 22 – St. Francis Episcopal Church; March 29 – St. Luke’s Church; April 5 – Otterbein United Methodist Church; April 12 – Irvine Presbyterian Church; April 14 – Good Friday Procession of the Cross beginning at noon at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, with a processional through town, stopping for a short time of prayer at each church. All Services Begin at Noon!

Spring Revival

The Pittsfield Wesleyan Methodist on Route 27 will be having their Spring Revival on March 28-April 2, 2017. The evening services will begin at 7:00PM, and the closing service on Sunday evening will be at 6:00PM. The Rev. Steve Cassady family will be ministering in the Word, and in music throughout the week. They have made several music CD’s, and will be selling them during the Revival. They have 3 children that sing with them, and they are from Washington, Indiana

Mission Trips Fundraisers

A Spaghetti Dinner will be held at Wrightsville Community Church on Saturday March 18th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Cost is donation. Dinner Includes Spaghetti with meatballs, salad, French bread, and dessert. Proceeds benefit Wrightsville Church Mission Trip to New Mexico in June.

Fish Fry

Please support Lenten Fish Fry Dinners on Fridays, from 5-7:00 pm and will continue every Friday through Lent. Cost is $9. Choice of potato, baked or fried, coleslaw or applesauce and dessert. Take-out’s available. The dinners’ are to support upcoming mission outreach projects.

‘Come One, Come All’

On Saturday, March 18 from 7:30-10:30 a.m., there will be another breakfast here at the church. Cost for the breakfast is a donation. Come out and support our youth as they try to raise funds for Missions.

“40 Cans for Lent”

The “40 Cans for Lent” (Food for Families) program will be held again this year, sponsored by St. Luke Knights of Columbus. Participants are asked to bring one can of food for each of the 40 days of Lent to benefit Youngsville Ministerial Food Pantry. They invite other area churches or individuals to participate. Easter Egg Hunts

On April 15th will be the Annual Pittsfield Easter Egg Hunt at Friendship Field at 11 AM. There will be many prizes including some warren county fair family packs and summer camp scholarships. Don’t forget to head on down to Youngsville Free Methodist’s Easter Egg Hunt at 1 PM on Davis St. in Youngsville. You may even have time to stop and spend the ice cream cone coupon you found before heading on to Youngsville Free Methodist.

Evangelical and First United Methodist Church invites all children from 3 years old – 6th grade to get ready to discover their strength in God at Hero Central Vacation Bible School. The fun begins 07/10/2017 and ends 07/14/2017 from 6:00-8:30 pm at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 18 Second Street, and Youngsville, PA. Pittsfield Otterbein UMC Invites Children to Maker Fun Factory VBS: Created by God, Built for a Purpose.

A summer kids’ event called Maker Fun Factory VBS will be hosted at Pittsfield Otterbein UMC from June 19th to June 23, 2017. At Maker Fun Factory, kids discover that God made them-and for a purpose! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Funshop Finale that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 8:35 pm.

Kids at Maker Fun Factory VBS will join a missions’ effort to fund the digging of effective clean water wells for remote villages in Peru.

Maker Fun Factory is for kids from 4 to 12 and will run from 6 PM to 9 PM each day. For more information, call 563-3333.

Food, Fun & Fellowship Saturday Nights

You are invited to join us on March 18 at the First United Methodist Church located at 225 East Main Street will host a Coffee House format with snacks, sweets coffee drinks – Pastor Rick will play his guitar and sing with others joining. If you play a musical instrument and sing come join us in good Christian fun!

Man Camp at Wesley Woods

Man Camp at Wesley Woods will be held on March 31-April 2, 2017. For Men ages 18-118. Cost is $83 per person. If you would like to attend, please contact Pastor Rick Hammick at the Free Methodist Church, or the church office at 563-9009.
