Library to hold book sale Oct. 10

The Clarion Free Library will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, rain or shine. Hardcovers will be $2, paperbacks $1, children’s books two for $1 and bags $5.

County to host recycling event

A recycling collection event will be held in Warren County from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the school district central office, 6280 Market St., Russell. Pre-registration is required at ecsr.net or 1-866-815-0016. Items that will be collected include computers, printers, televisions, cellphones, batteries, paints, bleach and light bulbs. Certain items, such as tires, medical waste and ammunition, will not be collected.

ANF forces road closure The Allegheny National Forest will be reconstructing Forest Road 504 and Forest Road 508 on the Bradford Ranger District. Forest Road 508 intersects with US Highway 219. Road reconstruction will include the removal of one existing stream crossing culvert located over the Camp Run Drainage for an upgrade for Aquatic Organism Passage. Forest Road 504 and Forest Road 508 will be closed to through traffic beginning Sept. 23 with work scheduled for tentative completion by Sept. 30.
