Bocce tournament The Warren Bocce Players’ tournament will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Bocce courts at Betts Park in Warren. The tournament starts at 2 p.m. and a picnic afterward will start at 5 p.m. Author pens book Warren County resident and author Judy Sharer has written a historical romance titled “Settler’s Life, Hold on to your dreams.” The book is the first in a family saga series titled, “A Plains Life.” For more information, visit https://judysharer.com. Hessell Valley Lutheran Church luncheon canceled The Hessell Valley Lutheran Church’s regular Wednesday lunch will not be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, due to a scheduled power outage at the building. WAHS class of 1960 reunion The Warren Area High School class of 1960 will celebrate their fifty-eighth graduation. It will be held at the Eagles Club on Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. The class will chat and at 6 p.m. dinner and more chatting. The cost is $15 per person. City explores which streets will qualify for CDBG funding

There are strings to how the City of Warren can spend federal Community Development Block Grant funds. But officials are working to identify – and bring to fruition – the next series of projects designed to specifically benefit low-to-moderate income people. A public hearing was held this week to discuss the CDBG process, generally, and the various projects, specifically.
