A Warren woman is charged with aggravated assault after allegedly striking another woman with a metal bat. Marcella K. Gigliotti, 55, of Warren, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the alleged victim told police she had been walking around late Wednesday, looking for her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle. A Pittsfield man has been charged with sexual assault of a young girl. James R. Owen, 21, of Barton Run Road, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with child and aggravated indecent assault of child. The charges relate to an alleged incident from between 2013 and 2015 involving a girl who was between 4 and 6 years old. Dead animals found in container left in yard

Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police are seeking information about a container left in the yard of an East Fifth Avenue residence containing the remains of two dead animals. Troopers responded to the home Saturday shortly after 5 p.m. after the “homeowner reported a suspicious container that was left in his yard,” the State Police said in a news release. “The container was discovered to contain a deceased medium-sized mixed-breed dog wrapped in blankets,” police say. “A deceased orange and white kitten was also found inside the container.” Troopers say the investigation ...
