Brokenstraw Twp.

DUI. Pennsylvania State Police have charged Seth Weaver, 34, of Irvine, with DUI, after police said he was found to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, March 26, on Route 6 and National Forge Road.

Conewango Twp.

Hit-and-runs. Conewango Township Police are looking for information regarding a series of hit and run crashes and other traffic violations at 3:38 p.m. Friday. According to police, a gold Dodge van rear-ended a truck owned by Gregory Burkett of Warren on Market Street near State Street. Police said the driver of the van drove away from the crash, heading north on Market Street. Police said the same van then rear-ended a car driven by Kristy Waite of Warren that was stopped waiting to make a left turn into Sheetz. Police said the driver of the van again drove away from the crash, this time west on Vine Street to the dead end. The two victims attempted to block the van at the end of Vine Street, police said, but the driver drove through yards to escape, finally driving through the rear parking lot of Sheetz then west on Jackson Run Road. The driver is described as a female in her forties with short, dark brown, curly hair. Both victims and a witness said the driver was talking on a cell phone throughout the incident. The vehicle is an older, gold Dodge van, possibly a Caravan, with heavy front-end damage. The vehicle was missing its rear, passenger hubcap. The wheel is solid black. Anyone with information is asked to contact Conewango police.

Theft. Lori Ann Jashurek and Brian Michael Jashurek, both of 22 Buchanan St., Warren, face retail theft charges filed by Conewango Township Police. According to police, Lori Jashurek was caught on video surveillance intentionally failing to scan $93.00 worth of merchandise at Walmart on Feb. 4. On March 3, Lori and Brian Jashurek failed to scan $174.57 worth of merchandise, according to police. Lori Jashurek faces two counts of retail theft. Brian Jashurek faces one count of retail theft.

Theft. Naomi Shannon Anderson-Bell, Bainbridge, N.Y., was charged with retail theft by Conewango Township Police. Police said Anderson-Bell concealed $32.14 in merchandise on her person and left Walmart without paying at 5:47 p.m. Saturday.

Theft. Timothy G. Schneider, of Sheffield, faces retail theft charges after Conewango Township Police said he stole $353.98 worth of merchandise from Walmart while he was employed there.

Theft. Kathryn Bailey Reed, of 210 Horton Ave., Sheffield, and Alaura Marie Sutton, of 1505 Sill St., Warren, were each charged with one count of retail theft by Conewango Township Police at 2 p.m. Friday. According to police, Reed concealed $32.33 in merchandise in her purse and Sutton did the same with $63.03 in merchandise. Both then left the store without paying, police said.

Theft. Neftali Vellon Benitez, 34, of Jamestown, N.Y., faces a felony retail theft charge. According to Conewango Township Police, Benitez stole a total of $1,096.80 worth of merchandise from Walmart in North Warren during the four-months she was employed there.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nathan Manhart, 39, Panama, N.Y., on two bench warrants issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas. Manhart was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

DUI. Conewango Township police report that at 6:19 p.m. on March 12, officers came into contact with Daria Wenzel, 47, Youngsville, who was involved in a minor non-reportable motor vehicle accident. Police said Wenzel was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested. A criminal complaint for DUI highest rate has been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

DUI. Conewango Township police report that at12:25 a.m. on March 24, officers came into contact with Meghan Morrison, 26, Warren, who was operating a vehicle on Follett Run Road near Market Street, when it was determined that Morrison was under the influence of alcohol. Police said a criminal complaint for DUI highest rate has been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Clarendon

False alarms. Warren-based state police reported that Allegheny Valley Elementary School has been cited with a summary violation for control of alarm devices for having more than three false alarms in a 12-month period. There have been five false alarms at this location in the past 12 months, according to police.

Youngsville

Disorderly conduct. On March 25 at approximately 12:25 p.m., Youngsville Borough police were called to Youngsville Elementary Middle School for a disorderly student. According to police, a known 14-year-old male juvenile was causing a disturbance in school, throwing objects around the room and failing to obey the teacher’s instructions. Police said charges are pending through juvenile probation.

Clarendon

Simple assault. Warren-based state police responded to Clarendon Borough on March 22 at 2:35 a.m. for a fight. According to police, Daniel A. Harkins, 23, Sugar Grove, and Tyler D. Wilson, 22, Warren, engaged in mutual combat and both were charged with simple assault. Harkins was life-flighted to Hamot Hospital in Erie for treatment of his injuries. Wilson sustained minor injury. Police were assisted at the scene by the City of Warren police, Clarendon volunteer firefighters and EmergyCare.

Tidioute

Bad checks. Tidioute Borough police said Phyliss Drugga, Marienville, has been charged with bad checks after she issued a check to Tidioute Oil Company for $412.50 and failed to make good on the check after proper notice was given.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lincoln P. Madigan, 22, Tarentum, Pa., on a supervisor’s warrant and two bench warrants for failure to appear for fines and cost court issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas. Madigan was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Hit and run. On March 23 between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. a Subaru sedan belonging to a known female was struck in the parking lot in front of Warren Commons/Dollar Tree area. Police said no description is available of the suspect vehicle. Anyone who may have witnessed or has knowledge of this incident is asked to contact police at 726-0725.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police responded to a report of retail theft at Walmart at 5:17 p.m. March 23. According to police, Billie Jo Umbaugh, 44, Kane, was stopped by Walmart loss prevention personnel after attempting to leave the store without $166.67 worth of unpaid merchandise. Police said a criminal complaint has been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Pine Grove Twp.

Theft, fraud and forgery. Allison Kotchel, 28, Braley Road, Russell, reported to Warren-based state police that her credit card information was used twice between Jan. 20 and Feb. 15 by someone to make online purchases. Police said the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Sheffield Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that between Dec. 1 and March 11 at 11:10 a.m. someone entered a residence on Brown Run Road by breaking a basement window. Once inside, the suspect broke a basement door and entered the living area of the residence before fleeing the scene. Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Cited. Warren City police said Joshua Boozer, 29, Warren, was cited for harassment after officers responded to his residence for a reported domestic dispute on March 20.

Charged. Warren City police said Glenn Slocum, 27, Warren, was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment on March 21 after an investigation into a past tense domestic dispute.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s deputies said they received an anonymous tip for the location of Christopher J. Fletcher, 32, Warren. Fletcher was then arrested by deputies on a probation supervisor’s warrant and taken to the Warren County Jail.

Columbus Twp.

DUI. Corry-based state police reported that on March 20 at 10:32 a.m. Branden Allen Black, 31, Sugar Grove, was stopped for a traffic violation on Rugte 6 east of Corry. Police said it was determined that Black was intoxicated.

Conewango Twp.

Hit and run. Conewango Township police reported that sometime overnight between March 21 and March 22 an unknown vehicle struck multiple road signs and mailboxes on Jackson Run and Dutch Hill roads. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Sugar Grove

Twp.

Simple assault. Warren-based state police reported that on March 21 at 12:30 p.m. a known 14-year-old male victim was pushed in the face several times and kicked in the stomach/ribs by a known 15-year-old suspect on Stillwater Road. Police said charges are pending.

Clarendon

Disorderly conduct. Warren-based state police reported that on March 22 at 3:38 a.m. James Curtis Ecklund, 42, Clarendon, was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he showed up at a residence, began banging on the door and yelling. Police said after Ecklund was confronted by troopers on Anchor Street, he continued yelling and causing a disturbance.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police were dispatched to Walmart for a report of retail theft on March 21 at 3:44 p.m. According to police, Anthony Jashurek, 43, Warren, and Lori Jashurek, 44, Warren, had $106.23 worth of merchandise on their person that they did not pay for. In attempting to leave the store, they were stopped by Walmart Loss Prevention. Police said non-traffic citations have been filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Youngsville

Assault. Youngsville Borough police was dispatched to Youngsville High School for a fight in the hallways during school on March 20. According to police, a female student assaulted a male student by striking him several times in the face and head area. Staff members broke up the altercation before police arrived. Police said charges are being filed for simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Possession. Youngsville Elementary Middle School staff reported to Youngsville Borough police that a known six-year-old brought a controlled substance to school that he found at his home. The controlled substance was turned over to police. An investigation is continuing.

Found. Warren City police said a Southwell multimeter was found in the Midtown Parking Lot on Friday. It can be claimed by identifying it at the police department between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Columbus Twp.

Theft. Between 3:30 p.m. March 16 and 2 p.m. March 17, four sap buckets and taps were taken from Larry Walters’ yard on Blue Eye Road, according to Corry-based state police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.

Freehold Twp.

Fraud. According to Corry-based state police, between March 8 and March 10, someone used a credit card belonging to Jensen Withey, Spring Creek, without his permission.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Christopher B. Rockwell, 26, Warren, on a bench warrant for failure to appear for sentence court as directed by President Judge Maureen A. Skerda. Rockwell was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Identity theft. Warren-based state police reported that between October and December of 2013, and between May and December 2014, a known suspect used the information of a 21-year-old female, Warren, to open utility accounts in the City of Warren and the village of Garland. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Walmart Loss Prevention investigated Vincent Burham, Jr., 23, Garland, for taking items from the store while employed at Walmart. Following an investigation by Conewango Township police and loss prevention, it was found that Burham had taken at least $285 worth of food, movie DVDs and video game DVDs. Burham was charged with two counts of retail theft.

Eldred Twp.

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that between March 10 and March 11 someone rubbed mud on the hood and the left side of a vehicle belong to a 24-year-old male, Bear Lake, causing minor damage. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on March 14 at 7:25 p.m. at a Cobham Park Rd. residence a known 35-year-old female and Rodney Lee Tomassoni, 44, Warren, became involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in physical contact. Police said the investigation is pending.

Youngsville

Burglary. Youngsville Police are investigating a burglary at 303 College St. that occurred sometime between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. from March 11 to March 12. Someone gained entry by breaking a glass window at the rear of the residence and once inside stole several fentanyl patches. Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them at 563-7555.

Harassment. Youngsville Police are investigating a harassment that occurred during school hours at the Youngsville Elementary Middle School on Thursday, March 12. A known 13-year-old female juvenile threatened to harm another 13-year-old female classmate. Summary harassment charges are pending against the juvenile.

Criminal mischief. Youngsville Police are investigating an incident that occurred between 4 p.m. on March 17 and 8 a.m. on March 18 involving damage to a vehicle in the Huey’s parking lot on E. Main St. The vehicle appeared to have scratches on the driver’s side doors from a sharp object. Criminal mischief. Warren City police said Jack Larson, 56, Warren, was cited for criminal mischief following an incident on Feb. 19 in which officers responded to a report that a tire had been slashed.

Terroristic threats. Warren City police said Roger Fehl, 61, Clarendon, was charged with terroristic threats and harassment on March 13 following an investigation into threats that were made at his place of employment.

Pine Grove Twp.

Drug possession. Warren-based state police reported that on March 11 at 1:11 p.m. a known 16-year-old male, Russell, was found to be in possession of marijuana and a pipe used for smoking marijuana on Swede Hill Rd. Charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were filed against the juvenile through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Tidioute

Simple assault. Tidioute Borough police has charged Justin D. Campisano, 23, Pittsfield, with simple assault, harassment and defiant trespass after an incident that occurred at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at the pub bar when he struck a 34-year-old male in the head with a closed fist and he was not allowed on the premises where he was.

Theft. Tidioute Borough police received a report that James Wolford, Sheridan St., reported that sometime between Feb. 4 and March 15 someone removed a 32 foot aluminum extension ladder from his garage valued at $320.

Cattaraugus Co.

Warrant arrest. At about 12:20 p.m. on March 17 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Antonieo D. Thomas, 27, Jamestown, NY, at the Cattaraugus County Jail. He was arrested on two bench warrants issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for fines and costs court and a supervisors warrant issued by Warren County Adult Probation for violating probation. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Catteraugus County

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s Office report that deputies arrested Justin Anderson, 25, 130 West Riverside Drive, Olean, N.Y., at the Catteraugus County Jail. He was arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Warren County Common Pleas Court for failure to appear for calendar call on misdemeanor charges of retail theft, conspiracy to commit retail theft, and receiving stolen property. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township Police report that on Feb.7, 21, March 6, 10 and 12, Melissa S. Gifford and Raul A. Alvarez, 54 McKinley Avenue, upper apartment, Jamestown, N.Y. went through the self checkout lines at Wal Mart and intentionally failed to scan a total of $381.42 worth of merchandise and groceries. Gifford would pay for a portion of the orders with her welfare card, then the pair would steal the remaining unscanned items. On March 12, they were stopped by Wal Mart loss prevention personnel. Non-traffic citations were filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Freehold Twp.

DUI, fleeing/eluding. Corry-based state police report that on March 14, at 1:30 a.m., a traffic stop was attempted on a red 1997 Ford F-150 driven by Justin Giordon, 32, Sugar Grove, on Route 958 for traffic violations. Giordon failed to stop and fled in the vehicle. A high speed pursuit was initiated for several miles, until the truck crashed into a snow bank. Giordon then fled on foot, and was apprehended a short distance away. He was placed in the Warren County Jail, and summary criminal and traffic charges are pending before District Justice Art Zerbe.

Pittsfield Twp.

Harassment. State police report that on March 13, between 7 and 7:05 p.m., a known 15-year old male juvenile struck a known 50-year old male with an open hand, and struck and shoved a known 50-year old female numerous times at 31511 Route 6. The investigation is continuing.

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables reported arresting Melvin R. Atwell, 58, Warren, on an arrest warrant issued by District Justice Glenn Carlson for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Atwell was taken before Carlson and released pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on March 12 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Benjamin E. Atwell, 26, Warren, hit a known 35-year-old victim in the chest causing injury at the Center Building at the Warren State Hospital. Atwell was cited for harassment through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Clarendon

Warrant arrest. Pennsylvania State Constables reported that on March 13 at 11 a.m. they arrested Clara Lowry, 53, Clarendon, on a bench warrant issued by District Justice Glenn Carlson for violation of compulsory attendance (failure to send a child to school). Lowry was taken before Carlson and released pending further court action.

Mead Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on March 11 at 11:14 p.m. on Route 6 approximately one mile east of Six Mile Road. According to police, a 2009 Toyota Camry, driven by Dominick Desio, 22, Mt. Jewett, changed lanes into the left lane in an attempt to pass a 2008 Ford F550, driven by Rodney Korbar, 57, Youngsville, while Korbar was making a legal left turn from Route 6 into a driveway. Police said Korbar had activated his turn signal and vehicle-mounted flashing work zone lights prior to making the left turn. Police said Desio’s vehicle hit Korbar’s vehicle while Korbar was making the turn. Both vehicle continued traveling for approximately 10 feet before coming to rest in the driveway Korbar was trying to turn into. Police said no injuries were reported in the accident, but Desio was cited for overtaking vehicle on left.

Clarendon

Warrant arrest. At about 2:20 p.m. on March 9 Warren County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald Jordan, 59, Clarendon, at a parking lot in Clarendon near Railroad Street and Route 6. He was arrested on a bench warrant issued by District Justice Laura Bauer for failure to appear for a preliminary hearing on a charge of misdemeanor theft. He was released on bail.

Youngsville

Assault. Youngsville Borough police are investigating an assault that took place at Youngsville Elementary Middle School at approximately 11:30 a.m. March 11. According to police, a 15-year-old male eighth-grade student grabbed a nine-year-old third-grade student and placed him in a choke hold in the restroom and slammed him to the ground causing injuries to the younger student. Police said when another younger student entered the restroom to assist the nine-year-old student he was also targeted. Finally, a third student entered the restroom and then went for help. A teacher arrived and stopped the altercation. Police said charges are pending against the older student.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Old Russell Road at the intersection with Cable Hollow Road on March 9 at 8:20 p.m. According to police, a 1997 Honda Civic, driven by Gregory J. Marsh, 18, Jamestown, N.Y., was traveling north on Old Russell Road and he lost control of the vehicle negotiating a left-hand curve. The vehicle traveled off the northbound berm where the front of the vehicle hit a mailbox and newspaper box. The vehicle then hit a utility pole. Both Marsh and a passenger, Blake E. Rhodes, 20, Kennedy, N.Y., sustained what police described as minor injuries in the crash. Marsh was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed.

Sheffield.

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that between Dec. 1, 2014 at noon and March 11, 2015 at 11:10 a.m. someone broke a basement window and entered a residence located on W. Main Street in Sheffield. Once inside, a basement door was broken and the individual entered the living area of the residence. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Public drunkenness. Garrett Miller, 52, Warren, was cited for public drunkenness by Warren City police after officers responded to a report of a man screaming outside at 11:14 p.m. on March 5

Crash. Sara Puhl, 27, Alex Bay, N.Y., was cited by Warren City police for following too closely on March 8 following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Pennsylvania Ave. E. and South Street.

Disorderly conduct. Andrew Miles, 49, Warren, was charged by Warren City police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after officers responded to a report of a male sitting on the stairs of a business and screaming profanities and racial slurs at 10 p.m. on Feb. 28. He was placed in the Warren County Jail on an emergency commitment after becoming combative with police.

Crash. Courtney Morse, 47, Warren, was cited by Warren City police for obedience to traffic control devices on March 2 following a one-vehicle accident at Oak and Pool streets.

Theft. Jonathan Cooke, 19, Warren, was charged by Warren City police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Feb. 25 following an investigation into a stolen cell phone.

Theft by deception. Vincent Miller, 52, Punxsutawney, was charged by Warren City police with two counts of bad checks and two counts of theft by deception on March 4 following an investigation by police.

Retail theft. Syanna Matsock, 18, Russell, was charged by Warren City police with retail theft on March 6 after she attempted to leave a local retailer without paying for $13.99 worth of merchandise.

Jamestown, N.Y.

DWI. On March 8 at approximately 5:34 p.m. Jamestown City police conducted a traffic stop on Ivy Street near Foote Avenue. Police said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to comply with a marked patrol unit for the vehicle traffic stop. Once the vehicle was stopped, the defendant, Michael Wielobob, 35, Russell, was identified as the operator. Upon investigation it was determined the defendant was driving while intoxicated. Police said Wielobob had a BAC over two times the legal limit. Wielobob was charged with speed in zone, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance, DWI, aggravated DWI (more than .18 BAC) and failure to comply with lawful police order. He was transported to the Jamestown City holding facility, pending arraignment.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. According to Conewango Township police, on March 3 at approximately 11:52 a.m. Alicia Ann Ruhlman, Russell, altered a prescription for pain medications in an attempt to get more tablets than prescribed and then attempted to pass the altered prescription at the Walmart pharmacy in North Warren. Police said they subsequently charged Ruhlman with felony forgery, felony criminal attempt/acquisition by misrepresentation of a prescription for controlled substance and misdemeanor criminal attempt/possession of a controlled substance.

Mead Twp.

Crash. A Warren woman has been charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a one-vehicle crash at 6:52 a.m. March 2 on Route 6 near Griff Hill Road. According to Warren-based state police, Joanne M. Prechtl, 36, was driving her SUV east on Route 6 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a tree in the eastbound berm. Police said Prechtl left the scene without notifying police and was later found and charged with driving under suspension and other traffic violations.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. The driver of an SUV involved in a two-vehicle crash at about 7 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Cider Mill Hill and Cable Hollow Road was cited for a violation of stop signs and yield signs. According to Warren-based state police, Shawn D. Williams, 46, Russell, was driving north on Cider Mill when he attempted to slow the vehicle down as he came to a stop sign. Police said the vehicle began to slide on the icy road and proceeded into the intersection into the path of an eastbound van driven by DeWane K. Mong, 34, Warren. The van struck the SUV at its rear driver side, causing it to rotate about 90 degrees before it struck a utility pole and a traffic sign. Neither driver was injured.

Tidioute

Hit and run. Tidioute Borough police reported that sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 2 p.m. Thursday an unknown driver struck a vehicle belonging to Sasha Lewis while it was parked along Main Street. Anyone with information is asked to contact the borough police.

Youngsville

Hit and run. Youngsville Borough police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that took place between 6:20 and 7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 7, along North Main Street. According to police, a parked silver SUV owned by Mary Seybert was struck, causing damage to the driver’s side. Anyone with information is asked to contact borough police at 563-7555.

Glade Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a three-vehicle accident on Conewango Avenue at the intersection with Holly Street on March 5 at 3:03 p.m. According to police, a 2006 Dodge Ram, driven by Heidi N. Kenworthy, 27, Sugar Grove, approached Holly Street at approximately 50 miles per hour where a 2008 Subaru Outback, driven by Alisa M. Pedersen, 50, Clarendon, was stopped waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Holly Street with a 2003 GMC Envoy, driven by Alicia Gray, 38, Sheffield, stopped behind Pedersen’s vehicle. Kenworthy attempted to stop, leaving approximately 50 feet of skid marks in the southbound lane of travel before rear-ending Gray’s vehicle, which slid forward approximately five feet and made contact with Pedersen’s vehicle. All persons involved were wearing seat belts. Warren City Fire Department responded to the scene and Glade volunteer firefighters assisted with traffic control. Pedersen, Gray and two passengers in Gray’s vehicle were transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Police said Kenworthy was cited for following too closely.

Forgery. A Conewango Township resident reported to Conewango Township police that he suspected Adrianna M. Mealy, 25, Warren, to have taken several checks from him and had issued them between Aug. 28 and Dec. 22 of last year. After an investigation by police, Mealy was arrested for felony theft of $10,122.07 and 21 felony counts of forgery. Mealy was released on bail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing. Ashley M. Streit, 25, Warren, who had received funds from this theft, was also charged with a misdemeanor theft of receiving stolen property.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police were contacted by Walmart Loss Prevention on Feb. 11 in reference to the apprehension of Jody L. Thomson, 41, Warren, after Thomson had taken $4.61 worth of merchandise at the self check out by scanning a false UPC. Upon further investigation by Loss Prevention, five more retail thefts were found on video surveillance as conducted by Thomson. Police then cited Thomson for those five prior retail thefts totaling $235.91.

Youngsville

Retail theft. On Monday, March 2, the Youngsville Police Department responded to a theft in progress at the Dollar General in Youngsville. The offender, Azza Gaines, 35, Butler, Pa., was found in possession of a USB cable which was not paid for. Gaines also provided the police with a false name and address. Felony charges have been filed with District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Rape. Jonathan G. Upton 33 of 409 E. Main St. Youngsville, has been charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and nine other charges after Youngsville Police were contacted to investigate alleged offenses. The alleged incident began when the victim was approximately eight years of age and continued until Children and Youth and police were involved. CYS received a complaint that the now teenage girl had been sexually abused for several years. Upton was arrested on a felony arrest warrant today and placed in the Warren County Jail with $100,000 bail set by District Justice Zerbe’s Office. Pennsylvania State Police, the Warren County Detectives Office and Warren County Sheriff’s Office assisted with this incident.

IRS scam. On Thursday, March 5, Youngsville police was notified of a telephone scam by local residents. The residents received a phone call form an individual stating they were calling on behalf of the IRS in regards to the residents committing tax fraud. The individual left a name and a badge number with the residents. The residents knew this to be a scam because they had not yet filed their taxes and wanted the general public to be aware. The police have been notified of multiple telephone scams in the recent past and would like to warn residents not to provide any personal information over the telephone.

Chautauqua Co.

Warrant arrest. At about 4 p.m. on March 5 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Bridget Bardo, 32, Conewango, NY, at the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville. She was arrested on two warrants, one bench warrant issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for fines and costs court and one supervisors warrant issued by the Warren County Adult Probation for violating parole. She was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Possession. Warren City police said Evelyn Bennink, 35, Warren was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 23 following an investigation.

DUI. Warren City police said Alexandra Pellegrino, 22, Warren, was charged with 2 counts of DUI following a one-car accident on Feb. 15.

Bad checks. Warren City police said Jason Paden, 31, Pittsfield, was cited with bad checks on Feb. 18 after a check he had written to a local business had been returned for not sufficient funds.

Retail theft. Warren City police said Kenneth Hadden, 20, Warren, was cited for retail theft on Feb. 20 following an investigation.

Crash. Warren City police said Mark Farnham, 21, Salamanca, N.Y., was cited for limitations on backing following a two-vehicle accident on Canton Street on Feb. 27.

Crash. Warren City police said Alexis Munksgard, 18, Warren, was cited for driving a vehicle at a safe speed on Feb. 14 following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Conewango and Jackson avenues.

Theft. Warren City police said Kelli Shagla, 32, Sugar Grove, was charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received on Feb. 18 following an investigation.

Warrant arrest. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kimberly L. Lawson, 45, Ludlow, on March 3 on a bench warrant for failure to appear for calendar call as directed by President Judge Maureen A. Skerda. Lawson was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Warrant arrest. At about 3 p.m. on March 3 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Chessidy Hamilton, 30, Clarendon, at a business on Pa. Ave. W. in Warren. Hamilton was arrested on three magisterial district justice warrants for failure to pay fines and costs. He was placed in the Warren County Jail in lieu of bail.

Warrant arrest. At about 4 p.m. on Feb. 27 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kyle Kitchel, 22, Warren, at the Warren County Courthouse on three warrants issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for fines and costs court. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Warrant arrest. At about 12:53 p.m. on Feb. 21 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Robert Brown, 31, Warren, at a Buchanan St. residence. He was arrested on a warrant issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for fines and costs court. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Phone scam. Conewango Township police reported that a senior citizen from Conewango Township was contacted by phone in reference to winning a new car and $2,000,000 from Publisher’s Clearing House. The caller told the resident that she was entered into the sweepstakes by her utility company simply by paying her bills. The caller stated to receive the winnings she had to purchase a green dot card for $295 and call them back. The citizen had read in previous releases about these cards and about never having to pay for winnings. She hung up on the caller. The person called back and she told them they were trying to scam her and the caller hung up.

Pine Grove Twp.

Bad checks. Warren-based state police reported that on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 Terrie J. Woodruf, 41, passed two bad checks at Bair Pizza totaling over $100. Two counts of bad checks was filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Freehold Twp.

Simple assault. Warren-based state police reported that on Feb. 26 at 5:30 a.m. a known male and known female became involved in a physical altercation over marital issues on Rt. 958. The victim, the female, suffered injuries to her head and arm areas as a result of the assault. The male was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was taken before District Justice Arthur Zerbe and arraigned. Zerbe committed the male to the Warren County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Crash. Warren-based state police reported a hit and run crash on Sheldon Rd. east of Stoney Run Rd. on Feb. 27 at 7:30 a.m. A 2014 Ford F150, driven by Raymond H. Griffin, 61, Youngsville, was traveling east and another vehicle, unknown make and model, was traveling west.When the vehicles passed each other, the mirror of the unknown vehicle struck Griffin’s vehicle causing minor damage. The unknown vehicle then fled the scene. No injuries were sustained in the crash and both vehicles were able to be driven.

Sheffield Twp.

Warrant arrest. At about 12:08 p.m. on Feb. 21 Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Dayle Phinney, 26, Sheffield, in Sheffield. He was arrested on a warrant issued by the Warren County Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear for calendar call. He was placed in the Warren County Jail pending further action.

Farmington Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Pa. 957 at the intersection with Miller Hill Rd. on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. A 1986 Chevrolet K10, driven by Jonathan R. Andrews, 33, Frewsburg, NY, was traveling north on Miller Hill Rd. across Rt. 957 after stopping at the stop sign. Andrews pulled into the path of travel of a 2003 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Jason N. Hazeltine, 36, Bear Lake, which contained two juvenile passengers. Police said Hazeltine’s vehicle was having electrical problems and was traveling west on Rt. 957. The front of Hazeltine’s vehicle impacted the right side of Andrews’ vehicle and, after impact, Andrews traveled in a northwesterly direction across the intersection, coming to rest on top of a snow bank on the northwest corner of the intersection. Hazeltine’s vehicle spun counterclockwise after impact and came to rest in the intersection. No injuries were reported in the accident and, according to police, neither driver was cited.

Glade Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police reported that a 2000 Dodge Dakota, driven by Richard A. Sorenson, 57, Warren, was traveling north on Cobham Park Rd. Sorenson drove off the road in the area of box 1100, hitting the snow bank along the berm. The vehicle continued traveling north, impacting several snow banks along the way. The vehicle came to rest in a yard along the northbound roadside in the area of box 1148. The front of the vehicle was facing north. Sorenson tried unsuccessfully to get the vehicle unstuck but eventually got out of the vehicle. Sometime after Sorenson exited the vehicle, the vehicle caught on fire and burned. Police said Sorenson was uninjured but arrested for DUI.

Chautauqua Co.

DUI. On Feb. 23 at about 12:44 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on E. Chautauqua St. in the town of Chautauqua for inadequate head lamps. The operator was identified as Joshua F. Lair, Youngsville, and an investigation found Lair to be intoxicated. Upon further investigation, Lair was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Lair was taken into custody and after processing was released with traffic tickets. Lair will appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date to answer to charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 or greater, inadequate head lamps and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Pleasant Twp.

DUI crash. According to Warren-based state police, at 1:56 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, a 1999 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Jeremy Miller, 22, Pleasant Township, left the road and overturned once, landing on its tires, at the intersection of Crestview Boulevard and Pleasant Drive after Miller lost control of the vehicle. State police say Miller was interviewed and arrested for DUI. Charges were filed through District Court 37-4-01.

Southwest Twp.

DUI crash. Pennsylvania State Police said at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, James Pringle, 68, Centerville, Pa., went off the road on Route 27 and hit a guard rail before his vehicle rolled over. Pringle was arrested for DUI.

Sheffield

Harrassment. Sunday, March 1 at 1:42 a.m., David Sheldon, Clarendon, entered into an argument inside the Shaw House and subjected the victim to unwanted physical contact according to Pennsylvania State Police. Harrassment charges were filed through District Court 37-2-01.
