Russell UMC to host

breakfast Saturday

Russell United Methodist Church, 17 N. Main St., Russell, will host a free community breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausages, eggs, juice and coffee. The public is welcome.

Holy Redeemer to host blood drive

The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Holy Redeemer Church, 11 Russell St., Warren. To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.fourhearts.org or by calling Edinger at 814-596-3395. Walk-ins are also welcome, but scheduling an appointment ensures a smoother process for donors. Blood donations take about 45 minutes.

Bridge league winners announced

Monday evening at the YMCA, Bill Kuppinger and Pat Fincher came in first with Sharon Rissel and Vicky Laurie in second. Nan Cashman placed first on Tuesday at the Woman’s Club and Bill Massa was second. On Thursday at the Woman’s Club, Bill Massa and Jo Simonsen were first and second.

Caregivers Support Group to meet

The Caregivers Support Group-Warren will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 20, at noon at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. E. Attendees should enter through the elevator entrance and proceed to the Wesley Parlor. The meeting provides a confidential setting for caregivers to share concerns and discuss topics of interest to those present. All caregivers, as well as those interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related disorders, are welcome. The meeting is open to the public.
