Property Tax/Rent Rebates

According to the Gov. Josh Shapiro’s office, rebates that are part of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program will be distributed on Monday, July 1. The rebates will be distributed to an initial wave of approximately 442,000 older homeowners, renters, and people with disabilities across Pennsylvania totaling $266 million – significant increases from last year, when 283,468homeowners were issued rebates totaling nearly $132 million.

Outdoor club to hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will bike or hike part of the Clarion-Little Toby Trail from Ridgway, Pa., to Carman on Sunday, June 30. The group will meet at Musante St. at 1 p.m. or at the trailhead on Water St. in Ridgway at 2 p.m.

Forest service closure

Offices on the Allegheny National Forest will be closed on Independence Day. The Marienville Ranger District office will also be closed on Friday, July 5, and instead open on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

HEROES planning events for the Fourth

HEROES, a support group for parts with children with disabilities, will be at Betts Park on July 4, 5 and 6 offering free sensory activities for children. On July 6, they are teaming up with White Cane Foundation, Be Well Warriors, and the Marine Corps League to provide a day for individuals with sensory processing disorders as well as veterans. There will be swimming, volleyball, games, and food.
