Summer programs available to students

School is out for summer, but there are still district employees working and kids going to school.

The Warren County School District offers a number of different summer programs to students.

“I think everybody has a perception of what it means to be the first day of summer vacation,” Superintendent Amy Stewart said. “Today was the first day of summer programming. There is a lot of traffic in and out of Beaty, in particular.”

“We ask that people stay diligent and keep the environment safe,” she said.

While most teachers and students are not in the classrooms for the next few months, district personnel have work to do.

“Things are different when the students and staff are not in,” Stewart said.

The budget has been a focus of central office personnel recently. Most of that work is done.

The school board has approved a proposed final budget and must approve a final budget by the end of the month.

Now, central office personnel are focusing on staffing for next school year, she said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
