Visitors Bureau to upgrade sign along US 6

The Warren County Visitors Bureau has used a plain text sign to promote county events for years.

That is getting a significant facelift — a 3-by-6-feet full color LED double-sided sign — as a result of a board action last week.

Visitors Bureau Executive Director Casey Ferry said the new sign would fit in the space where the current sign is located.

“I think it’s long overdue,” WCVB Board member Troy Clawson said. “This is above and beyond. … It does help us with our mission.”

“(It) certainly makes a statement when you drive by,” Board member Jim Roth added.

Ferry provided several other updates to the board.

The 2023 visitors guide is with the printer and she said that 22,000 of the 35,000 on their way will go to rest areas and welcome centers throughout the state.

She also said that a new intern — David Perry, a junior at Warren Area High School and the Warren County Career Center — will begin in April.

“(He’s) a really great kid,” Cathie Cummings, his marketing teacher and also a board member said. “I’m excited for the opportunity for him.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
