Playing of Taps.

American Legion Chief Cornplanter Post 135 hosted a Memorial Day ceremony on the front steps of the courthouse this morning.

Commander Craig Mullen welcomed the approximately 100 in attendance, followed by the raising of the colors by Civil Air Patrol 505. Retired Col. Brenda Franklin was the keynote speaker.

The roll call of those who died in service of their country from Warren County were read by Richard Hanson, Dave Swanson, and Tim Fields of Post 135.

Americanism essay winners from WAEC and Beauty read their essays and Post 135 Color Guard performed a 21 gun salute while Taps played on the bugle.

A lunch was provided afterward at Post 135, furnished by Sons of the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary.
