STAYING POSITIVE
The last few years have been very hard on active seniors. Many seniors are feeling isolated, stressed, expressing anxiety and depression. It can be very difficult to stay positive in the world we live in today. Dr. John from Deerfield Behavioral Health will be conducting a roundtable discussion on understanding depression, the connection between social isolation and depression and how to take an active role in re-establishing the positivity back in your life on Thursday Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Allegheny Community Center. Call the ACC to reserve a seat.
OPEN
ENROLLMENT
Open enrollment begins October 15 and runs through Dec 7. Don’t pay more for your prescription then you need to. Pa Medi is here to help. Every year the insurance companies decide to change up their plans and what prescriptions they are going to cover at what price. Come to a meeting set for Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. to get your questions answered on how it all works and save money on your plan.
PAINTING CLASSES
A watercolor class is offered at the ACC and anyone interested should call to sign up. The court is taught by David Olson who is very knowledgeable and more than willing to walk you through the experience of creating your own piece of artwork. Spaces are limited. An acrylic class is also open for registration through Sept. 14. That class will be held on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The course will run for five weeks and Bart Green will be the instructor.
