Property taxes need to be drastically reduced

Dear Editor: I wanted to write this as a followup to my previous letter on property taxes. Did everyone notice the huge amount of properties listed in the paper for non payment of taxes? I hope our taxing bodies noticed that but it will no doubt do any good. They are the ones that caused many of these properties to be listed there. But they will probably have no guilt feelings at all and will no doubt not extend any benefits to our citizens, and will just let the tax notices go out no matter what. Dear Editor, A Thursday paper item speaks of teaching history in a way that respects race, etc., in North Carolina. What kind of history book will you use? The most needed is the one discarded years back — the Holy Bible! Who is your neighbor? What does a human being look like and do you love him or her as yourself? How much more should we know? Taxes bring harm Dear Editor: I want to address this to those who set and impose property taxes. I know a lot of people who hate the month of August as that is when property bills come in. Those bills devastate a lot of people. It wipes out their savings or maybe they have no savings at all. The first thing that needs to be done is to eliminate the words “property tax Increase.” With COVID, many people do not have the money.
