Values in choosing Dear Editor, As we approach a crucial election in our country, I am reminded how much we have strayed from documents meant to lead and protect us. Jehovah God gave us a manual of instructions by which to live; by following His laws and precepts we have the route to happiness and life on earth and in Heaven. Dear Editor, We would like to thank everyone who made this year’s Caleb Hultman Memorial Cornhole and Softball Tournaments so successful. We greatly appreciate everyone who attended an/or contributed in any way to these events. Dear Editor, As a former Warren city councilwoman, I am most concerned that the current council is considering voting against a more formal Council of Governments agreement. When I was attending the Warren County Intergovernmental Council of Governments meetings it was in an attempt to eliminate the “us against them” mindset of city against county municipalities. Long-term care ‘crisis’ Dear Editor, The term ‘crisis’ is tossed around too easily today, but the workforce challenges in long-term care have truly reached ‘crisis’ levels. In Pennsylvania, we have more elderly and adults with disabilities in need of care than available caregivers. This, in turn, has overwhelmed hospitals and forced vulnerable seniors to remain at home while awaiting admission into a nursing home. Signs of poor taste Dear Editor, Madison Avenue’s two political protest signs – wanting the president and all who voted for him to be fornicated — reflect terribly on the people in those two houses. It demonstrates the sign owners’ lack of common decency, their major disregard of community mores and social standards and neighborhood welfare.
