Preliminary hearings held in county court

Three guilty pleas were entered, charges were withdrawn against four and two were held for court during preliminary hearings held on Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse. Stabbing lands man in state prison

An October 2020 stabbing has landed a Spartansburg man in state prison for at least the next four years. Charles R. Earls, III, 24, was sentenced by Judge Gregory Hammond on Friday on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats. It was Earls who initially called 911 and told troopers that he had stabbed the victim twice after the victim attempted to punch him, per the affidavit of probable cause. Hotel drug busts lands man over six years in prison

Dealing methamphetamine out of two county hotels has landed a Meadville man in state prison. Jonathan E. Crowell, 50, was sentenced by Judge Gregory Hammond Friday morning. According to Warren County detectives, “We got information that there were two individuals selling methamphetamine out of the Budget Lodge. They were staying in rooms there.” After investigating, officers of the Warren County Drug Task Force secured search warrants — two for the Mead Twp. hotel and one for an involved vehicle.
