ERIE — The Warren girls softball team was on the road as they faced the McDowell Trojans in what would be the only Warren High School sporting event of the day as the other four events were postponed due to weather. Warren scored early, but ultimately fell 17-4 in Region 6 action. ERIE — The Eisenhower Knights played their third game in four days, falling to Mercyhurst Prep 13-3 in Region 3 softball Tuesday. Eisenhower scored twice in the first inning, thanks to an RBI triple down the first-base line from Marli Rectenwald and an Abbie Darr sacrifice fly. Mercyhurst got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first, but gave that run back to the Knights with an error in the second inning. PITTSBURGH — CJ Abrams went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs as the Washington Nationals held off the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 on Tuesday night. Abrams hit a solo shot down the left-field line in the fourth inning to extend the Nationals’ lead to 4-1. ERIE — Playing its seventh consecutive road match to start the season, the Warren boys tennis team continued its strong run with a 5-0 win over Mercyhurst Prep. Erie outlasts Dragons 9-8 in 12

Erie High needed almost two full games to defeat Warren on Monday afternoon at Old Legion Field. In a dramatic back-and-forth battle between the visiting Royals and the Dragons, 12 innings were required to determine the winner.
