Knights run well at Buhl Park

HERMITAGE — The Eisenhower Knights cross country team competed at the annual Blue Devil Invitational over the weekend and had plenty of success. Hosted at Buhl Park, the Knights ran well, competed hard and impressed head coach Darlene Beach. “This meet gives us the opportunity to race against a lot of other schools in District 10,” she said. “Quite a few of our kids had personal best times on the course.” In varsity boys action, the Knights earned an 11th-place team finish out of 28 total teams led by Parker McBride’s 18:22 pace, good for 38th overall and a medal. ...

A newly formed group of anglers and conservationists, the Pennsylvania Wild Trout Coalition, is conducting an email blitz aimed at both politicians and the public to support its request to reform Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocking practices. Specifically, they are asking for the commission to stop stocking streams ...

Warren golfers Haibach, Hendricks end season

MEADVILLE — Warren senior golfers Gavin Haibach and Hayden Hendricks ended their high school golf careers Friday at Whispering Pines Golf Course. Selected to participate in District 10’s first-ever “Last Chance Qualifier,” Haibach and Hendricks competed against four other golfers from AAA, with the low scorer of the day punching the final ticket to the individual District 10 competition next week at Meadville Country Club. Haibach birdied two of the final three holes, but his 83 fell unfortunately just short of Meadville’s Michael Mangine, who shot an 80 on the day to ...
