The Warren Youth Climbing League was climbing the walls again this past Monday. It was Kinzua Veterinary Clinic vs. Allegheny Outfitters and Bent Run vs. Slick Text. The Whirley team had a bye week.

Coleman Miller and Chase Long from Kinzua Vet Clinic both posted high scores averaging 307 points apiece. With four teammates Marshall Harrington, Joseph VerMilyea, Evan Wellner and Jaxon Moore all averaging over 140 points, the KVC team was able to put 4,461 points on the scoreboard. However, this would not be enough to top Allegheny Outfitters. Coming off of last week’s win, team AO tallied up 5,255 points. For a second week in a row Nina Harrington, Razzlin Pratz, Eloise Harrington and Elsie Woldt posted big numbers, averaging 371, 273, 252, and 210 points, respectively, but it was truly a team effort as four other climbers averaged over 140 points earning AO the win.

The second match was just as exciting as Slick Text and Bent Run exchanged the lead several times. Strong climbing by Lily White, Bella Smith and Gabriella Bango kept Bent Run on top for the majority of the match averaging 483, 210, and 198, respectively. However, Slick Text’s Lane Morrison, Scarlett Wymer, Riley Littlefield, Markus Hammond and Alivia Glotz were crushing the boulders (averaging 291, 221, 193, 174 and 174, respectively), and Slick Text moved into the lead late in the match. It was a late top of the hardest boulder by Lily White that elevated Bent Run to victory 4,837-4,507.

The Warren Youth Climbing League has a short break in competitions. The next meet is Monday, April 15 at The Goat Fort, and will see Bent Run vs. Kinzua Veterinary Clinic and Slick Text vs. Whirley.
