Hanson scores 21 as Eisenhower downs Maplewood
GUYS MILLS — The Eisenhower boys basketball team traveled to Maplewood on Friday night and improved its winning streak to three and its record to 10-2 on the season.
Austin Hanson continued to scorch the nets as he had a game-high 21 points for the Knights, including 13 in the first quarter when they jumped out to a 24-8 lead. By halftime, Eisenhower had doubled up on the Tigers, 34-17.
“We played a great first quarter and were able to maintain that lead throughout the game and work some of our younger players into the game,” Knights coach Ryan Mangini said.
Maplewood was led by Chase Koelle, who dropped in five 3-point shots and finished with 17 points.
The Knights are back in action twice this week, starting with Cochranton on Wednesday at home followed by a road trip to Union City on Friday.
