The Warren Hogs concluded their regular season at home with a dominant 26-0 win over the Port Allegany Gators.

The Gators lost the coin toss and the Hogs elected to defer. The Hogs defense started strong with a three-and-out. The Hogs responded with a strong drive, capped off by a Ty Bryan 40-yard touchdown run.

Once again, the defense responded with another three-and-out, and the offensive line remained dominant with another strong drive into the Gators’ red zone. Emmett Snyder capped off the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run.

The Hogs defense continued their dominance and got the offense the ball back early in the second quarter. The offense struck quickly on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Bryan to Jaret Lang.

DUKE CENTER — In a game that would feature the Warren Dawgs playing their backups for three quarters, they posted their fourth shutout of the season.

The Dawgs defense would force a three-and-out to start the game. The offense would then take over and drive it 65 yards for the first points of the game, behind a 11-yard rushing touchdown by Johnny Nunez. Clay Cummings would run in the point-after touchdown to make it 7-0 Dawgs.

Again the Dawgs defense would force another three-and out. The Dawgs offense would come on and this time drive it 48 yards, capping off the drive with a Keegan Weissinger 20-yard touchdown pass to Clayton Hammerbeck. A Weissinger-to-Blake Vanarsdale point-after pass would make it 14-0 going into the second quarter.

From there, the back-ups would take over for the rest of the game and help secure the shutout win.

The Dawgs offense would rush for 154 total yards, led by the offensive line of Noah Pape, Laine Jackson, Jeremiah Lyon, Owen Young and Ryan Hilliard. They would pave the way for Chase Raub, Nunez, Weissinger, Hunter Ingerson and Cummings to control the clock and wear down the opposing defense all game long.

The defense would complete its fourth shutout of the year and only allow 37 total yards of offense. Ingerson would lead the way with seven tackles, followed by Cummings with two forced fumbles and two tackles. Weissinger would add a sack and Logan Beedle, Aaron Jennings, Jaxton Bass, Blake Vanarsdale, Lucas Copley and Scott Skidmore would all have multiple tackles. Skidmore also had a fumble recovery.

The Warren Dawgs clinched their division and a home playoff game against Coudersport (3-2) This will be their fourth matchup against each other — Warren leads the series 2-1, including last year’s championship game — in what has turned into quite the rivalry between the two towns. The winner will advance to the championship game. The Dawgs are looking to be there for their second consecutive season. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at War Memorial Field.
