Loaded Cathedral Prep tops Warren 19-1
Cathedral Prep remains unbeaten after a 19-1 Region 5 win at Warren on Wednesday.
“They are good,” is really all Warren coach Andrew Morrison could say after his Dragons dropped to 4-11 overall and 2-10 in the region.
Prep, ranked the second-best high school baseball team in the Northeast region of the country by Prep Baseball Report, is 15-0 overall and 10-0 in Region 5 with the District 10 Class 4A playoffs approaching.
NCAA Division I Wake Forest University commit Luke Costello was 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs on Wednesday. His freshman brother, Andrew Costello, already a Wake Forest commit, had a double and two RBIs in the five-inning win. D-I Maryland recruit Cole Constable also homered and had two RBIs.
D-I Clemson recruit Jason Fultz struck out 10 over four innings, giving up hits to just Ben Sowa, Konnor Hoffman and Owen Blum.
Four Warren pitchers threw as the Dragons committed six errors in the field.
