CORRY — On a wet, muddy day, the Warren high school trap team traveled went on the road to face the undefeated Corry trap team, eventually falling by a score of 169-141.
“It certainly wasn’t a great day, but trap competes in every kind of weather,” Warren head coach Sunny Linden said. “I’m proud of the kids today, they hung in there and did well.”
Top shooters for the Warren varsity on the day were Jacob Franklin, Owen Schott, Conner Loomis, Trenton Anthony and John Peterson with 24s while Zane Carlson and Ryan Fitzsimmons had 23s.
As Corry and Warren trap teams are both club sports, Eisenhower students are permitted to shoot for either school since Eisenhower does not have a team. Both squads had Knights shooting for them. Corry has four Eisenhower students shooting for them and the seniors did well. Caleb McMillen shot a 24, JJ Darts a 23 and Conner Younger a 22. Freshman Tristen Aiken shot a 21 for the JV squad.
“I have really enjoyed the kids from Eisenhower, they have been with me so long now, I don’t even remember they go to another school,” Corry head coach Sherry Anderson said. “We will miss those senior shooters, they are all excellent shooters and work very hard. I’m excited for Tristan. He’ll have big shoes to fill, but he works hard.”

The lone Eisenhower student shooting for Warren was freshman K.C. Johnson, who shot an 18 for the Dragon JV squad.
“Corry has a tremendous program, while we are growing,” Linden said. “We are closing the gap between us and them. I’m looking forward to challenging them in the future.
Just how good is Corry’s program? They haven’t lost a meet in eight years, the last loss coming to Warren, ironically. Corry has been league champions 11 years in a row.
Top JV shooters for Warren were Jonah Swartz with a 21, and Taige Davis, Jacob Ferino, K.C. Johnson, Tyler Klenck, Jacob Retterer and Owen Tipton, who all scored 20s.
