The Warren track teams earned a sweep of the visiting Meadville Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon as the girls won 79-71 and the boys prevailed 77-73.

“We knew today would be a battle on both the girls and boys sides,” reported head coach Kevin Dustin. “Meadville has a very talented team and we brought our best today. We won a lot of close competitions, and when we couldn’t win we did a great job of securing second and third. A real team effort today and great to come out ahead on both sides. Very happy with how everyone stepped up today.”

Max Spiegel tied his personal best with another high jump of 6 feet, 7 inches, still just 2 inches shy of the Warren High record.

Individual event winners for the Lady Dragons were: Lilly Newton (400 meters, high jump), Ava Wymer (200 meters), Morgan Alexander (3,200 meters), Zoe Rodgers (discus), Lara Pearson (javelin) and Gracie Page (pole vault).

Winning their respective events for the boys were: Adon Maier (110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles), Leyton Salvatore (800 meters), Cole Fitzgerald (3,200 meters, pole vault) and Max Spiegel (high jump).

The Dragons have a few days off until the highly anticipated Altoona Invitational on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
