Russell man faces indecent assault charges

A Russell man has been charged with two counts of third-degree felony corruption of minors.

Casey J. Fitzsimmons, 42, of Russell was charged with two counts of third-degree felony corruption of minors – defendant age or above and four counts of indecent assault person less than 13 years of age on Monday, April 27, by the State Police at Warren after an alleged incident that began June 1, 2022, in Elk Township. Fitzsimmons was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Court Judge Laura Bauer. He will be in court for a preliminary hearing on May 13.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the State Police at Warren received a CY-104 police notice describing a girl who said she had allegedly been touched inappropriately by Fitzsimmons. During a forensic interview in February at the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center, the girl reportedly disclosed two times she was touched inappropriately.

The first incident allegedly took place during a camping trip along the Allegheny Reservoir when the girl was 12 years old. Troopers said investigation showed that the incident allegedly took place at the Hopewell Campground in Mead Township. The second incident allegedly took place when the girl was 11 or 12 years of age at Fitzsimmons’ Elk Township residence.
