Warren volleyball stays undefeated
HERMITAGE — Warren swept Hickory, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20, on Thursday in a Region 5 road match.
Alexia Bowers led Warren with 13 kills and seven digs; Carly Beers added seven kills and 10 digs; Kylie Fehlman six kills and two blocks; Kirsten Johnson three kills, three blocks and three aces; Maddy Jones two kills and five digs; and Lilly Newton a kill and two blocks.
“Alexia looked really good tonight,” said Warren coach Mike Dolan, whose Dragons are 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the region — all 3-0 sweeps. “Despite the scores, we came out kind of slow and had some errors each game, but she was on it on the outside. I do feel like on any given day, any of the front line can have a big day. It’s a really balanced team offensively, and nice to have so many options.
Libero Summer Lucks finished with 18 digs and two aces; and setter Lindsay Madigan 24 assists, three aces and five digs.
“Those two have been so good on the first two contacts,” said Dolan. “I think it gives everyone confidence that they can transition and be ready to attack.”
In a 25-22, 19-25, 15-12 junior varsity win for Warren, Maddie Nosel had six kills, five digs; Sophie Walker 13 digs; Lily Walker three kills, three digs, four aces; Delaney Wright 14 assists, four digs; Newton three kills, two aces; Elissa Errett five assists; Lauren Fajbik five kills; and Tori Solberg three kills.
