CORRY — The Eisenhower Knights traveled west Saturday to scrimmage District 10 Class 1A back-to-back champion Reynolds and Class 4A Corry.
On the day, the Knights scored two touchdowns and gave up only one touchdown to Corry.
The offense was solid behind the running of senior running back Benji Bauer who had 84 yards on the ground and junior fullback Tucker Lindell, who added 38. Junior quarterback Shawn Pascuzzi was sharp passing the ball for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Wyatt Lookenhouse and junior wide receiver Kris Bunk each caught a score.
“I thought we played very sound offensively,” said Knights head coach Jim Penley, who was pleased with his team’s offensive effort. “I was very happy with the play of our young linemen who are fighting for a spot on the right side.”
The defense limited both Corry and Reynolds to only four completed passes and held their offenses to less than 3 yards per play on 18 of 30 plays.

“Defensively, I thought we played very well. Outside of giving up two long runs, we did not allow either team across the 50-yard line,” Penley said. “I was pleased with our aggressiveness.
“We still have a lot of work to do, and clearly are not a finished product,” Penley added, “but this gives us a good starting point on where we need to focus. Most importantly we came out of it healthy.”
The Knights kick off their season Friday on the road against defending region champion and D-10 finalist Cochranton.
