Hamlin Bank announces leadership transitions

Hamlin Bank and Trust Company, which has a branch in Sheffield, announced planned leadership transitions involving its Board of Directors and executive management team.

The Company announced the retirement of the Honorable Judge John H. (Jack) Yoder, Senior Director, effective April 15. Yoder’s term expired at the Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders held on April 15 at which time he elected to retire. Yoder served the Bank with distinction for 34 years, providing valuable leadership and guidance since first elected in 1992.

The Company also announced the retirement of Jeffrey A. Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, effective in June 2026.

In connection with these announcements, Executive Chairman of the Board, Martin J. Digel commented, “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank both Jack and Jeff for their many years of leadership, dedication and service to Hamlin Bank. Their contributions have been instrumental to the Bank’s continued strength and stability, and we wish them both the very best in retirement.”

Jonathan H. Benedict has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Hamlin Bank and Trust Company, effective immediately. Benedict joined Hamlin Bank in 2006, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Senior Loan Officer and Secretary. He brings deep experience in community banking, including lending and local market development.

Digel added, “Jon’s long tenure with Hamlin Bank, knowledge of our markets, and commitment to our customers and communities make this appointment a natural and well-earned progression. His leadership reflects the values that have defined Hamlin Bank for generations.”

Benedict will be joined by a seasoned and well-rounded executive leadership team, including Jacqueline N. Snell, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and David C. Yoder, Vice President, Operations and Technology.

Snell joined Hamlin Bank in June 2024 as Chief Financial Officer and brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience in the banking industry. Yoder joined Hamlin Bank in September 2004 and has more than 20 years of experience with the organization. Digel added, “We are extremely proud of this new leadership team at Hamlin Bank. Jon, Jackie, and Dave bring depth of experience and a shared commitment to our mission. Together, they position the Bank well for the future.”
